How the Velocity Ford Bronco on “Dutton Ranch” Became a Fan Favorite

The Velocity Ford Bronco stole the spotlight on “Dutton Ranch,” winning fans with classic style, modern power, and undeniable screen presence.

“Dutton Ranch,” the top-rated spinoff of the hit Paramount+ series “Yellowstone,” has given fans more of what they love about modern-day westerns. The first season debuted earlier this year and featured Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler from “Yellowstone.”

But the new series also introduced an up-and-coming talent: Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana Lynn Jackson, who winds up romantically entangled with Beth and Rip’s son, Carter, played by Finn Little. “Yellowstone” fans already know what to expect: things are going to get complicated, and the stakes are going to get higher as the drama mounts.

Amid all this, Oreana has a pretty unique set of wheels – a racing green Velocity Ford Bronco, a custom Bronco created by Velocity Restorations.

The Bronco has become a character itself, and the story of how it wound up on the show is an interesting subplot in its own right. Beyond that, the vehicle’s “Dutton Ranch” star has driven fresh interest in restomod Broncos and custom Ford Bronco builds..

Built for the Role: A Re-Engineered Classic Ford Bronco

The first-generation Ford Bronco has always embodied rugged capability. Originally introduced in 1966 as Ford's answer to the growing demand for compact four-wheel-drive vehicles, it quickly earned a reputation as a dependable companion for ranches, trails, job sites, and weekend adventures.

Nearly sixty years later, that same spirit remains.

Every Velocity Bronco begins with an original Ford Bronco before undergoing a comprehensive, frame-off restoration and modern re-engineering. The result is a vehicle that preserves everything enthusiasts love about the original while delivering the performance, comfort, and reliability expected from a contemporary SUV.

The Dutton Ranch Bronco is no exception.

Finished in Velocity Racing Green with a tan safari soft top and classic chrome accents, it strikes a balance between understated elegance and unmistakable capability. Polished alloy wheels, handcrafted interior appointments, and carefully considered finishes give the Bronco a timeless presence without ever feeling overdone.

Beneath its vintage exterior is an entirely modern driving experience. A Gen III Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission delivers effortless power, while upgraded suspension, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and modern steering inspire confidence whether navigating winding back roads or open highways.

Inside, premium leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, a premium audio system, air conditioning, and other thoughtfully integrated conveniences make the Bronco every bit as enjoyable to drive today as it is to admire.

It's still unmistakably a classic Bronco.

It simply performs the way many enthusiasts have always imagined it could.

Why This Restomod Ford Bronco Worked So Well on Screen

Great production design often goes unnoticed and that's precisely the point.

The vehicles chosen for a television series help establish its world just as much as the wardrobe, architecture, or landscape. They shouldn't distract from the story. They should feel like they've always belonged there.

The “Dutton Ranch” Bronco accomplished exactly that.

Velocity Ford Bronco on “Dutton Ranch” TV SeriesThe “Dutton Ranch” Bronco didn’t steal the scene—it belonged in it, bringing authentic style and rugged character to every frame.
Its honest proportions, iconic silhouette, and purposeful design made it feel entirely at home against the backdrop of ranch roads, wide-open country, and the rugged lifestyle portrayed throughout the series. Rather than stealing scenes, it quietly became part of them.

That authenticity is something Velocity strives to achieve with every Re-Engineered Classic we build.

A New Velocity Ford Bronco for Season Two

“Dutton Ranch” was such a success that it was renewed for a second season, which meant that Velocity would have to provide a replacement Bronco for Lind’s character, maintaining continuity. It helped that the actress loved the SUV.

“We’re making an exact sister vehicle,” explained Will Myers, Velocity Regional Sales Director Central US, noting that while this might sound like a challenging process, for Velocity it's actually quite straightforward. “Thanks to our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Florida, plus more than a decade of experience re-engineering vintage Broncos, the company can produce a highly customized vehicle in short order,” Myers shared.

The Velocity Ford Bronco Is Now Part of a Famous Fleet

It isn’t everyday that a vehicle becomes thoroughly ingrained with a highly successful piece of entertainment. The list of legendary vehicles through the decades is short. It includes the Pontiac Trans Am from “Smokey and the Bandit,” driven by Burt Reynolds, the 1968 Ford Mustang GT fastback that Steve McQueen piloted in “Bullitt,” the 1969 Dodge Charger that became the General Lee on “The Dukes of Hazzard” and the Pontiac Firebird that Jim Rockford owned in “The Rockford Files.”

Aficionados might also include the 1976 Ford Gran Torino from “Starsky and Hutch” and the 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible from “The Lincoln Lawyer.” Throw in the Ferrari Daytona from “Miami Vice” and the Ferrari 250 GT California from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and you can see where we’re headed. You don’t even need to obsess over the various cars that have appeared in the “Fast & Furious” movies.

A Velocity Bronco has now clearly joined an esteemed group, becoming synonymous with “Dutton Ranch” and with Oreana Lynn Jackson. The character and the car have become inseparable, and that’s a major achievement for Lind, the show, and the company that thought it would be a great idea to bring vintage Broncos and their unmistakable style into the present to be enjoyed by a whole new generation of fans.
