Velocity At SEMA 2025: The Fox Body Ford Mustang Like You've Never Seen It

Meet the foxiest Fox Body you're ever going to see. And Velocity is building a limited number of these starting in 2026!

There’s a certain electricity that surrounds the Fox Body Ford Mustang: a mix of nostalgia, rebellion, and raw performance that still resonates decades later. Ford’s third-generation Mustang (built from 1979 to 1993) bridged the gap between the muscle era of the '60s and '70s and the performance renaissance of the 1990s. The Fox Body Mustang carved out a reputation as the definitive American street machine as a lean, aggressive, and endlessly modifiable pony car.

Now, Velocity has reimagined that legacy with a level of craftsmanship and performance that brings this '90s Mustang into the modern era. The result is Velocity's Re-Engineered Classic Ford Mustang Fox Body, a high-performance restomod that pays tribute to its roots while pushing far beyond what anyone thought a Fox could be.

Media Coverage

It's always hard to stand out among the thousands of cars on display SEMA, but the understated Velocity Ford Mustang Fox Body has done just that with plenty of attention from top media outlets. Here is just some of the coverage this exciting build has received so far:

Understated. Until It Isn’t.

Velocity redefined the Fox Body Mustang with an exterior that pays homage to the authentic, original design while amplifying every line and curve with purpose-built precision. The lowered stance and glistening Jet Black BASF Glasurit paint draw your eyes, while the 18” CCW SA50 three-piece billet wheels and two-inch cowl-inducted hood hint at the high-octane upgrades hiding beneath the surface. Every detail is deliberate, whether noticeable or cleverly concealed from the obvious side splitters made by Carter’s Customs to the mini tubs that accommodate the wider wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero Corsa tires.

Performance Unleashed

Beneath the hood lies the true heart of this machine: a Ford Performance Gen 4X Coyote 5.0L paired with a Whipple 3.0L inverted supercharger. Together, they deliver an incredible 800 rear-wheel horsepower, to harness every bit of that force, the Fox rides on Pirelli PZero Corsa tires (245s in the front and massive 335s in the rear) delivering outstanding grip and control. Power flows through Ford’s 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission, providing lightning-fast shifts and exceptional drivability.

The chassis, crafted by Roadster Shop, replaces the original unibody platform and transforms the Fox Body into a track-ready performance machine. Power is sent to the wide rear tires through a carbon fiber driveshaft and a Ford 9-inch rear axle, while the Baer six-piston disc brakes deliver the stopping power you expect.

Every component has been precisely engineered and hand-fitted to elevate the driving experience beyond anything imagined in the original 1991 Mustang.
