Velocity Classic Car Restomod Born To Drive

At Velocity, every vehicle that rolls out of our shop is more than just a machine; they are testaments to classic American style, time-honored craftsmanship, and state-of-the-art engineering. We believe that these legendary vehicles are meant to be driven, not just admired from a distance. That’s why we put them to the test, proving that our builds aren’t “trailer queens” but road warriors capable of conquering any journey.

Last year, we set out to prove that Velocity restomods offer more than just show-stopping aesthetics. Our mission was simple: take Velocity-built vehicles on real-world endurance challenges—because actions speak louder than words. And we did just that. From group road rallies to solo cross-country excursions, we pushed our cars and trucks to the limit, showing exactly why Velocity’s reputation for reliability and performance is second to none.

Hitting the Road: A Mustang’s Journey to Hilton Head

There’s no better way to experience a true driver’s car than a road rally, and Velocity Sales Executive Will Myers seized the opportunity ahead of the 2024 Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance. Teaming up with Two Lane Touring, Will piloted a Velocity Signature Series 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback on an unforgettable journey from Nashville, TN, to Hilton Head Island, SC.

For the record, this was no leisurely cruise—it was a real-world proving ground. Road rallies are demanding, pushing cars for sustained distances while maintaining comfort and drivability. And the Velocity Ford Mustang took it all in stride, running alongside some of the best road cars out there without skipping a beat. With its upgraded powertrain, tuned suspension, and refined interior, this Fastback proved that properly modernized classic cars can offer heart-pounding performance and long-haul comfort.

Crossing States and Turning Heads: The Blazer’s 1,600-Mile Adventure

If Will’s Mustang rally showcased high-speed endurance, Velocity Restorations’ Founder/CEO Stuart Wilson and Director of Production Cody Dabney took a different approach. They set out from Velocity HQ in Cantonment, FL, behind the wheel of a Velocity Heritage Series Chevy K5 Blazer, bound for adventure, and they ended up in Denton, OK. This road trip was a true test of long-distance durability, covering 1,600 miles!

As Stuart and Cody navigated their way across America’s heartland, the Blazer turned heads everywhere. Along the way, they explored national parks, discovered hidden-gem restaurants, and even took some detours onto unpaved trails. From smooth interstates to rugged backroads, the Blazer performed flawlessly, embodying what Velocity stands for: timeless style, unstoppable reliability, and adventure-ready performance.
