Velocity and Omaze: Redefining Giving Back
The world is full of those who follow and those who redefine the path ahead.
Whether you’re talking about changing the definition of what a classic vehicle can be, or building a business that offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences and gives money to great causes in the process, the mantra remains the same. Never follow, always innovate and make an impact on the world as we know it. For Velocity and Omaze, this shared vision and energy around redefining expectations have made their partnership flourish. Their latest partnership will not only put a beautiful, classic Ford Bronco in someone’s garage but give a huge boost to an organization that’s synonymous with helping young people find their true potential. So, who are Velocity and Omaze, and why are they giving away Broncos? Let’s dig in.
Who Is Velocity Modern Classics?
Based in Pensacola, Florida, Velocity Modern Classics has been transporting classic vehicles like the iconic Ford Bronco, and International Harvester Scout into the modern age for over a decade. Started by Brandon Segers and Stuart Wilson, Velocity has enjoyed massive growth due to their unique approach that sets them apart from fellow builders. Rather than just focus on restoring a classic, the master craftsmen and women at Velocity focus on an OEM like experience where the classic Bronco is completely reimagined. For their latest Omaze partnership, Velocity is offering up one of their inspiring Velocity Signature Series Broncos.
Modern Edge That’s Inspired By The Past
On the outside, Velocity enhances the rugged line of the original with a stunning shade of Anvil Gray paint that’s meticulously applied in our state of the art paint booths by master painters. Every panel, every seam and every bolt is meticulously restored for an impeccable level of fit and finish that recalls the original, but ups the quality well beyond what was offered in the 60s and 70s. Pacer wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires set off an aggressive stance, along with a 2.5” lift. Every Bronco that rolls out of their 135,000 square foot facility has a road presence and authority that is unmatched by anything produced today.
Under the hood lives a monstrous 5.0L Coyote V8 with 430 horsepower and a stump pulling 410 lb-ft of torque. Velocity custom engineers exclusive parts for every Bronco they sell, and this unit is running a custom serpentine belt pulley set up for a beautiful engine bay and a thundering Velocity exhaust. Power hits the ground through a custom tuned 4×4 system with a legendary Dana 44 front axle and a Ford 9” rear end. Hauling all this muscle down from speed is a set of Hyrdoboost assisted brakes from Wilwood. Once the build is complete, every Classic Bronco is tuned on an in-house dyno for maximum refinement.
To the casual observer, the exterior may look enough like a classic but once you step inside, there is no mistaking that Velocity has completely changed the game. Every surface, stitch and seam is not only beautiful to look at, but feels incredible. Hand Stitched upholstery that encompasses both driver and passengers retains the vintage look of a classic Bronco, but brings a level of luxury that was unheard of 60s and 70s. An Alpine stereo complete with Bluetooth and Kicker speakers nestles into the classic dash, along with the controls for a Vintage Air A/C system. Yes, that’s right, this incredible vehicle has A/C! Even the window handles are adorned with a beautiful Billet handle that looks and feels perfect in the hand.
So, who is Velocity Restorations? Velocity builds the world’s best vintage Broncos and you too can have one in your driveway. All you need to do is enter with the fine people at Omaze.
Who Is Omaze & The Boys and Girls Club?
First off, let’s talk some numbers.
To date, Omaze has raised over $150 million dollars for charities all across the United States. To accomplish this insane number, founders Matt Pohlson and Ryan Cummings needed to redefine how worth causes raise money. Much like Velocity Modern Classics turned the world of classic Ford Bronco vehicles on its head, Omaze has become synonymous with incredible giveaways that also benefit incredibly worthwhile causes.
In practice, the concept is deceptively simple. Traditional charities offer a high percentage of donations to the intended cause (usually around 90%). Money is raised by events such as auctions and galas where wealthy benefactors purchase experiences with celebrities, sports stars or other notable figures. Omaze takes that same concept but completely changes the dynamic by upping the scale.
Omaze offers everything from vehicles like the Velocity Signature Series Bronco to world-class trips and experiences with celebrities or sports stars. Donors purchase entries for the experience, product, etc. and a portion of the funds collected from entries goes to the featured charity. Since the prizes offered are incredible, Omaze sees huge interest in purchasing donations and charities benefit to the tune of millions of dollars every year. This concept also allows the average person to win remarkable prizes and experiences that are usually out of reach.
Finding America’s Next Great Leaders
The latest Omaze / Velocity partnership is benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of America. Started in 1860, the Boys and Girls Club Of America is committed to providing youth from all backgrounds the opportunity to reach their full potential. The Club puts emphasis on education and preparing youth for a future in an ever changing world. Boasting high-school graduation rates around 97% with over 50% of Club members being interested in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) careers after graduation, the Boys and Girls Club of America is helping find our next generation’s great leaders and innovators.
A Perfect Combination
Omaze and Velocity Modern Classics are the perfect combination and let’s be honest. It’s quite simple. If you love incredibly cool classic restored vehicles that oozes charisma and want to support a worthy cause, there’s no reason to not donate today. You never know, you may be the next owner of this incredible machine, and even if you’re not the lucky winner, you’ll sleep a little better knowing that you supported a worthy cause.
