Velocity has rewritten history to create its Re-Engineered Classic Ford F-150, a truck that Ford never built—but definitely should have.

Ford’s now-ubiquitous F-150 nameplate didn’t exist before 1975. That year, Ford created this new version of the classic Ford F-Series to bridge the gap between the F-100 and the F-250, offering an improved Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over the light-duty trucks with a smoother ride than heavy-duty trucks. In a similar move, Velocity’s Re-Engineered Classic Ford F-150 fills the void between our pavement-hugging F-100 and the towering F-250 Highboy. The Bumpside F-150 never happened, but that didn’t stop us from bringing it to life!

The concept is simple yet revolutionary—take the robust and rugged frame of a 4WD, combine it with the sporty aesthetics of a short-bed truck, and then throw in the power and prestige of modern engineering. The result? A truck that transcends time, effortlessly blending thrilling off-road capabilities with luxurious features and show-stopping aesthetics. This F-150 variant is a fantasy turned reality, custom-built for enthusiasts who appreciate a mix of classic charm and contemporary performance.Re-Engineered Classic Ford F150 For Sale

That starts with beautiful handcrafted Velocity Leather upholstery, providing rich touch points throughout the cabin. The saddle-colored distressed leather adds plenty of character to this truck, and the styling is finished off with Velocity’s custom-machined billet accessories. Custom door panels give the cabin even more exclusivity, while the Velocity Exclusive Dakota Digital gauges and Alpine touchscreen infotainment system further elevate the user experience, blending advanced functionality with intuitive design for a seamlessly connected ride. This interior is one of the key components that set a Velocity Re-Engineered Classic™ apart from other classic car restorations and restomods.

Turning to the exterior, the Re-Engineered Classic 1972 Ford F-150 makes a striking statement on the road. The body is draped in a lustrous Midnight Blue over classic Wimbledon White, a color combination that not only nods to its heritage but also adds a layer of contemporary appeal. This color palette, combined with the smooth lines and robust frame of the truck, projects a presence that’s both commanding and elegant. OE-style chrome trim shows off the truck’s vintage nature, while Velocity’s custom-machined billet accessories reveal more of the custom side of this build. And you can’t look at this truck without mentioning its imposing stance, made possible by 18” polished wheels wrapped in 35x12.50” BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.

At its core, the Velocity Heritage Series 1972 Ford F-150 features a custom frame built by the Roadster Shop, known for its resilience and superior ride quality. Under the hood, the truck is powered by a modern marvel—the Gen III 5.0L Coyote V8 engine from Ford Performance, renowned for its raw power and reliability. This beast is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that ensures smooth transitions with a hint of untamed power, ready to roar on command.

The drive experience is further refined with state-of-the-art Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes that provide reliable stopping power with every press of the pedal. The suspension system isn’t left behind; equipped with coilover shocks, it offers a ride that’s both smooth and assertive, giving you the confidence to dominate both highways and backroads.
