Velocity Restorations and Classic Recreations Bring Re-Engineered Classics™ to The Amelia Concours d’Elegance

Velocity Restorations and Classic Recreations showcased a classic Bronco and carbon-fiber Shelby GT500 at The Amelia Concours d’Elegance, sparking stories and nostalgia among collectors and enthusiasts.

Each year, the Amelia Concours d’Elegance on Amelia Island, Florida, brings together some of the most remarkable collector cars in the world. Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious automotive events in the United States, the concours attracts enthusiasts, collectors, and manufacturers who share a passion for automotive heritage and craftsmanship.

Velocity Restorations and Classic Recreations attended the event as sponsors, joining a select group of automotive manufacturers and brands supporting the concours, including BMW and Aston Martin.

At the 2026 Amelia Concours d’Elegance, Velocity Restorations and Classic Recreations joined the concours lawn to showcase two modern interpretations of American automotive icons: a 1977 Velocity Classic Ford Bronco featuring the Ranger Package and the 1967 GT500CR Carbon by Classic Recreations.

While the event celebrates historic vehicles and concours-level restorations, it also provides a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to experience how classic vehicles can be re-engineered for modern performance, comfort, and reliability.

A Classic Ford Bronco Re-Engineered for Modern Driving

At this year’s event, Velocity Restorations showcased a 1977 Velocity Classic Ford Bronco equipped with the Ranger Package, a build that reflects the company’s approach to preserving the character of vintage vehicles while enhancing their drivability.

Early Ford Broncos (1966–1977) remain one of the most recognizable American 4x4 vehicles ever built. The Velocity Bronco drew steady attention throughout the weekend as visitors admired its period-inspired styling cues, refined interior, and modern engineering beneath the surface.

Throughout the event, many guests shared memories of their own Broncos from decades past. Stories of beach trips, family road trips, and weekend drives down back roads highlighted the lasting connection enthusiasts have with these vehicles.

Those conversations reinforced something the Velocity team hears often: vehicles like the classic Ford Bronco represent far more than transportation. They carry experiences, memories, and a sense of adventure that continues to resonate with enthusiasts today.

A Modern Interpretation of a Shelby Legend

Classic Recreations, part of the Velocity Restorations portfolio, presented the 1967 GT500CR Carbon by Classic Recreations, an officially licensed carbon-fiber Shelby GT500 continuation car built under license from Shelby American.

The GT500CR Carbon combines the unmistakable design of the original 1967 Shelby Mustang with modern engineering and lightweight carbon-fiber construction. The result is a vehicle that honors the legacy of one of the most legendary American performance cars ever built while delivering modern performance and precision.

For many enthusiasts walking the concours lawn, the iconic silhouette of the Shelby instantly sparked memories of posters on bedroom walls or the first time they saw a classic Mustang accelerate down a neighborhood street. While the technology may be modern, the emotional connection remains timeless.
