Velocity’s Fox Body Mustang Wins HP Tuners Precision Engineering Award At SEMA

The Mustang everyone talked about became the Mustang that earned HP Tuners’ top engineering honor at SEMA 2025.

Velocity Restorations lit up the 2025 SEMA Show with its Re-Engineered Classic Ford Mustang Fox Body. This reimagined 1990s icon sparked nonstop buzz across the automotive world earning widespread media attention throughout the week, but the spotlight didn’t stop there. It isn't hard to see why Velocity's latest build was recognized for its precision engineering. From the first look, this notchback Fox Body commands attention, blending the classic attitude of this '90s icon with modern performance and precise engineering. At its core sits a Gen 4X Coyote 5.0L paired with a Whipple 3.0L supercharger. Tuned with HP Tuners, the setup produces more than 800 horsepower with sharp throttle response and smooth delivery across the entire powerband. This engine behaves with the confidence and maturity of a modern performance platform while keeping the spirit of the original Mustang alive.

Supporting that power is the SPEC chassis from Roadster Shop. Designed for strength, grip, and high-speed stability, it turns the Fox Body into a completely transformed driving experience. The chassis provides advanced geometry, modern structural rigidity, and a level of control that elevates the entire platform. The result is a pony car that feels composed, predictable, and capable even when pushed to its limits.

During the show, the Mustang drew steady crowds to the Roadster Shop booth. People studied every detail, from the stance to the components tucked beneath the body. The craftsmanship was evident in every panel and every connection. Velocity Restorations created a build that rewarded close inspection, and each part of the car reflected the team’s commitment to precision.

The Roadster Shop Party amplified the energy around the build. As one of the most anticipated gatherings of SEMA Week, the event brought together builders, manufacturers, media, and performance enthusiasts. When the moment arrived for HP Tuners to announce the recipient of the Precision Engineering Award, the atmosphere intensified. The award focuses on excellence in engineering, calibration, integration, and execution, so Velocity’s Fox Body Mustang was the perfect fit.

The significance of the award comes from the standards HP Tuners upholds. Precision engineering is about more than power numbers. It represents full-system harmony between mechanical components, electronic controls, and calibration strategy. It honors builds that demonstrate both technical expertise and thoughtful execution. Velocity Restorations met these expectations with a Mustang that performs as a unified, well-balanced machine.

This achievement also reflects the value of strong industry partners. Roadster Shop continues to push the boundaries of chassis engineering and has helped redefine the capabilities of classic platforms. Their SPEC chassis was essential to the Mustang’s performance and stability. HP Tuners also played a key role by providing the tools and technology needed to extract the maximum potential from the Coyote powerplant.
